Dr. James DeLapp

Dr. James DeLapp is a third generation Colorado native. He attended the University of Northern Colorado for a Bachelors and Masters in Biology. In 1982 Dr. DeLapp graduated from the University of Colorado School of Dentistry and entered private practice. In 1995 he earned his second Masters this time in Exercise Physiology and the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Most of his research was at the Olympic Training Center at the International Center of Aquatic Research (ICAR). In addition to dentistry, Dr. DeLapp coaches swimming and has world ranked swimmers.

Practicing what he teaches

Dr. James DeLapp now teaches full time at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine as an As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry. He teaches Fixed Prostodontics (Dental crowns and Bridges), Operative Dentistry (dental fillings) as well as cosmetic dentistry(dental veneers and teeth whitening e.g.). In addition, Dr. DeLapp covers clinical dentistry for Junior and Senior Dental students as well as in the International Program.

Minimal Sedation for Dentistry

Dr. James DeLapp has a minimal Sedation permit from the Colorado State Board of Dental Examiners.  The course work Dr. DeLapp took allow him to provide minimal sedation to his patients in the Denver Metro area.

Dr. DeLapp is married and his wife and daughter Dr. Sarah Parsons continue with the practice he established in 1982. Their daughter Sarah, attended Colorado State University where she majored in Biological Science. At CSU Sarah was a scholarship athlete for the Rams Swim team and earned All-Academic honors From the Mountain West Conference. Sarah Pasons graduated from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine in 2010 and practices with her mother Dr. H. Candace DeLapp
